The Eloy history museum is housed in the original Eloy school. Eloy is a small cotton farming community is southern Arizona. The name, Eloy, is a railroad abbreviation of Eastern Leg of the Yuma railroad. The railroad couldn't be bothered to keep writing that all out, thus Eloy. And the Post Office approved it.
In the museum yard are a number of tractors and other equipment including the McCormick Deering Farmall, model
F-12. The sun has not been kind to the red paint and the name is difficult to read. Other pieces of equipment are stacked next to it. The distinguishing features of the model 12 are the horizontal steering column and the lack of a valve cover vent. The model 14 has an angled column and a vent.
