Wilhelminaboom op het Schild
De Wilhelminaboom is geplant ter gelegenheid van de inhuldiging van koningin Wilhelmina, op 6 september 1898. Om de boom is een sierhekwerk geplaatst, waarop onder andere een medaillon van de jonge koningin.
Jaren later zou op het zelfde plein een boom worden gepland bij de kroning van haar achterkleinzoon Willem Alexander.

Wilhelmina tree on the Shield
The Wilhelmina tree was planted on the occasion of the inauguration of Queen Wilhelmina, on September 6, 1898. An ornamental fence has been placed around the tree, which includes a medallion of the young queen.
Years later, a tree would be planted on the same square for the inauguration of her great-grandson Willem Alexander.
