[FR] Le parc Honoré de Balzac est dédié à l'écrivain né à Tours en 1799, et qui a marqué la Touraine. Le parc fut créé en 1970 sur l'île de la Prairie. C'est une île artificielle de 24 hectares au cœur du grand projet d'aménagement de la vallée du Cher menée de 19568 à 1971 par Jean Royer, alors député-maire de Tours.

[EN] Honoré de Balzac Park is dedicated to the writer born in Tours in 1799, and who left his mark on Touraine. The park was created in 1970 on Prairie Island.
