When Cindy Hewell had trouble finding a troop for her daughter, the Girl Scout council suggested she step up and be a leader herself. Cindy was completely surprised that they would allow someone in a wheelchair to be a leader, but nonetheless she then stepped up and became an active, much loved leader for both her daughter, and her son in Cub Scouts. I have been to many activities and events with Cindy, and she was a wonderful Girl Scout volunteer, bringing skills, compassion, and encouragement to all the children in her troop and den.
The attire at her funeral was green, to show their appreciation for all of Cindy's volunteer work with the Girl Scouts.
