This sculpture is part of 5 piece sculpture known as "The Family" that was made by Penelope Jencks in 1984. This portion of the overall sculpture is the daughter and she is sitting along the waterfront. The piece was designed to blend into the waterfront environment. Her sandals are sitting on the ground separate from her and surely have tricked some people into thinking someone left a pair behind.
