The Russian tsar was between 2.05 and 2.11 m tall, but the 2.55 m high bronze statue in Kloosterstraat shows him even taller than he already was; a classic trick to make someone look impressive

About Peter the Great
"Peter was the first Russian tsar to travel beyond the borders of his empire. He went on to modernize the vast empire and, above all, promote science. With the foundation of Saint Petersburg, the country focused more on Western Europe. In 1721 he transformed the Tsardom of Russia into the Russian Empire, was nicknamed The Great (not only because of his height, according to various sources, between 201 cm and 215 cm), but forgot to name a successor."
About the Statue:
While it may seem out of place to have a statue to Tsar Peter the Great in Antwerp, he actually visited this beautiful city in 1717, so it's a fitting statue to this prominent Russian Tsar.
