The Northampton Arts Council sponsored the 2021 Northampton Public Arts Festival in which 10 new painted utility boxes were create. The utility box at the intersection of Conz Street and Old South Street was painted by the artist who called Cobra Goose.

According to the artist:

"In stark black and white, these portraits and scenes loosely speak to themes of nature and technology, and the interplay between them. The bold style mimics black marker-drawn stickers commonly used in street art; thus subject matter and style roughly bring together the natural world and the urban. I've always been struck by the way the urban world both shuts out and makes room for the natural, as well as the relentlessness of nature in the face of this, and the ultimate coexistence of both. This art is an attempt to explore vivid pop culture iconography, street sticker themes, the wildness and playfulness of animals, societal metaphors, and social and technological critique. All images were drawn by hand on a Wacom digital tablet in 10K x 10k pixel format with the open source Krita program. Each work will eventually be released as an environmentally-friendly NFT (Non-Fungible Token Artwork) on a low-energy, low-cost third generation blockchain such as Cardano. Given their nature as NFTs, the pieces also comment on digital art and the value of digital art in the future." (visit link)
