St. Fin Barre's Cathedral is a large Anglican cathedral situated just south of the River Lee in the city of Cork. The current structure was built between 1865-1879, and replaced an earlier building that was demolished in the 1730's. The building is somewhat short for a cathedral, only 180 feet long, but the height inside is exaggerated to make it seem larger. The tallest of the three spires stands 240 feet above the floor of the church, making St. Fin Barre's the tallest building in the city, and can be seen from miles around
