At the southwest side of the Festival Marketplace, at the beginning of the pedestrial walkway, is a new historical marker. The RR bridge seen behind the marker is being named the Steen Memorial Bridge. A short timeline is listed on the marker, giving information on the first family to live at the Edmond Station.

John, Cordelia, and Charles Steen
First Family at Edmond Station

Dec. 1886: John, employee of the AT&SF Railway, arrived at Mile Marker 103 to supervise the building of the water well.

Nov. 1887: Cordelia and son Charles arrived at Edmond Station. They lived in the two-room pump house. The second room was the Steen's home.

Apr. 1889: The Land Run opened the Unassigned Lands for settlement.

Second Street stopped at the Edmond Station. The pump house stood at the site of the underpass bridge.
