This one-story, painted brick building is located at 125 Main Street, Calico Rock, Arkansas. This is the left side of what appears to be a two part building.

My Commentary:
This building is now a gift shop.
A National Register plaque is located on the south portion of the eastern facade. It is a standard brass plaque with raised lettering shaped like the state of Arkansas. It reads:
This property
has been placed on the
NATIONAL REGISTER
OF HISTORIC PLACES
by the United States

Same as Garner General Store. Eight-light transoms. Brick surrounding storefront has been painted. No significant alterations. Side elevation is penetrated by three pair of windows.

Serving briefly as the Post Office in the 1930's, then as a real estate office, it housed the original Western Auto store, owned and operated by Melzie Knowles.

Has brick façade with rough-cut stone side and rear walls (may have brick party wall in between storefronts). The street-level portion of the building is one-story, but the rear is 2-story as it goes down the hill to the east. Northern storefront (left) was known as the Creswell Office Building. It briefly served as the post office in the early 1930s (why did it temporarily move from museum building? Maybe Flood of 1927?). W. M. Jones later had a real estate office here, and it was the original location of the Western Auto Store, run by Melzie Knowles.

Visit Instructions:
To post a log to an existing U.S. Post Office waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the post office in the background if that is possible.

A description of your Post Office is required, such as when it was built, history, outstanding or unique features, population of the city or town, just do a quick internet search and find an interesting bit of information about the city or town and add it to the long description, to make it more interesting. Even just adding in the population of the area can give others an idea of how many people this post office serves. This description should be at least three sentences.

If your Post Office has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
Including your gps device in the picture is not necessary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval, as long as all other details of your log are acceptable.
