"Bunker 2 is located in one of the highest dunes in the Netherlands and was built in 1942 or 1943. Here was an observation post type 143. It has an armor steel lookout dome with a periscope. The bunker had an unobstructed view of the Western Scheldt. When the enemy was in sight, it was fired upon by the coastal batteries, but if the enemy landed, the sightings could be relayed by radio or telephone to the field artillery batteries positioned behind the dunes."
