This fine Romanesque Revival courthouse, the third for Butler County, was constructed in 1909 - in El Dorado, Kansas.

The first courthouse for Butler County was a log cabin. It was soon replaced by a limestone block structure that was expanded several times. This beautiful Romanesque Revival courthouse was constructed in 1909. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
