George H. Marshall
(1946-2012)
Families of Eva & Don. Connie.
Jerry & Susan. Gayle & Kenny.

"George H. Marshall, 65, of New Franklin passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at his home.

"Services celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

"He was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Enid, Okla., to George W. and Edna Bridgers Marshall.

"He married Dianne Wiemholt on March 20, 1976, in New Franklin, and she survives at the family home.

"Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 1967 to 1970. He retired from the University of Missouri as data center manager.

"George’s interests were many. He was a past member of the New Franklin Youth Athletic Association, New Franklin Businessmen’s Association and New Franklin Lions Club, was a past-president of the New Franklin Swim Club and was co-founder of the Missouri Pride Softball Organization. He loved coaching softball, following the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Missouri sports, classic cars and tractors, biking on the Katy Trail, traveling, observing wildlife, tending to his yard and trees, and vacationing at Branson. However, most important was his love of his wife, Dianne, and their children, Mike and Kacey, and supporting their activities.

"Cherishing his memory are his wife, Dianne Marshall of New Franklin; his children, Mike Marshall and Kacey Marshall, both of Columbia; and a sister, Jerry Schneider of Banning, Calif.

"George was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Maxine Nelson.

"Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Markland-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, New Franklin, Mo., 65274." ~ Columbia Daily Tribune, July 16, 2012
