The trail takes you along the historic "Old Carolina Road" which has a storied history and can read about it at the "Plain Path... Shenandoah Hunting Path... Carolina Road... Rogue's Road..." marker

. It is a short hike but the history makes it better. Also within walking distance is the Mount Zion Historical Church and Cemetery.
