The original post office in Richmond was opened on January 1st 1866, after the fire in 1923 a temporary office was set up in a postal van which visited town every Tuesday and Friday. Normal services recommenced in April 1926, The LPO is open weekdays for limited range of services between 0900 and 1700 but closes for lunch from 1200 and 1300.
