Le Musée de Bastia, qui avait dû fermer ses portes au public à la mi-mars, rouvrira ce mardi 2 juin. Comme l’indique la ville de Bastia dans son annonce de réouverture, la vie reprendra au musée ce mardi même si elle n’était pas totalement à l’arrêt durant cette période de confinement. Au contraire, durant ces 11 semaines la vingtaine d’employés du musée s’est affairée en coulisse, au premier chef son directeur Sylvain Gregori : « Il a fallu s’assurer que les normes de conservation des collections perdurent durant le temps où il y avait moins de monde au musée…on a évidemment continué à travailler sur le projet d’exposition et surtout sur le catalogue qui paraîtra bien cette année. »
Si le télétravail, déjà habituel, n’a pas chamboulé grand-chose, en revanche le report à l’année prochaine de l’exposition temporaire dédiée aux bandits, lui, a considérablement modifié le déroulé de l'année. Sylvain Gregori : « Au début mars tout allait encore bien, et au fur et à mesure de l’écoulement des semaines certaines institutions ont eu des réticences pour les prêts, je pense notamment au Musée national de Ljubljana en Slovénie, on aurait aussi eu des problèmes avec celui de _l’Ermitage en Russie_… »
La direction, qui table sur une fréquentation divisée par dix cet été, veut mettre en avant la collection permanente auprès des insulaires comme des touristes. Des visiteurs également très attendus dans le quartier de la Citadelle. Philippe Peretti, adjoint en charge du Patrimoine : « _Cette réouverture est très attendue en particulier par les commerçants, mais aussi les guides et tous ceux pour qui le musée concourt à l’activité_. »
Dans les jours qui viennent la bibliothèque patrimoniale et la médiathèque de Bastia rouvriront à leur tour.
