History:

RCW Waalwijk was founded on February 9, 1983. At the time, tennis was played on the outdoor courts at Racket Sport on the Bachlaan. In 1986, the municipality gave them the opportunity to build their own courts at Coubertinlaan (the current location) in Waalwijk. After the first year in this new place, the membership had increased to almost 500 members, but the registrations kept coming in and so it was decided to set a maximum membership at 500 excluding any resting members. Later an extra court was added, so that the number was adjusted to an average of 572 per year (excluding retired members).


The park/courts:

The tennis park consists of 7 smash courts, all owned by the association. In addition, the association has a mini tennis court and a tennis wall. The lanes are all lit so that all lanes can be used in the evening as well.

The surface of the courts is "smash court"

"Smashcourt is a surface for tennis courts, which in terms of playing characteristics is very similar to artificial grass, but resembles clay in terms of color and appearance. Smashcourt is more resistant to weather conditions than gravel, especially if this course is also built on a lava surface, and can therefore be played all year round. Smashcourt belongs to the category 'Red sand synthetic turf courts'."
