In 1954 a 'Cross a long the road' was built at Nerhoven's exit road. During the last restoration, a robin was places on the right crossbar.

According to legend the bird saw how on Good Friday Jesus at the
cross had extra pain from a viciously protruding thorn.
The bird pecked this thorn away. Added a drop blood on his chest that wouldn't come off
