Llyn Brenig is a man-made lake/reservoir managed by Dwr Cymru/Welsh water.

This lake is located on the Denbigh moors and straddles the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire.

There is a visitor centre and parking on site as well as a host of outdoor activities to enjoy.

This monument is located on a hill overlooking the dam. It is a pillar of concrete with a mounting on top for surveying equipment to be attached.

Historically the monument would have been used to monitor the water level in the lake to ensure there would be enough drinking water for the catchment area.

There appears to be some damage to the concrete around the mounting of this pillar.

This is one of four such monuments I was able to photograph on my visit. Many more were visible in the distance situated around the lake.
