Noticing an out of place fence post, I scuffed around at the base of it and discovered this bronze metal disk. It is embedded in a cement pad which supports the witness post as well. Along the outside of the disk is stamped, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture SCS Bulldog 12-20-82 N. In the center of the disk is an x. Bulldog refers, probably, to the Bulldog Canyon drainage that flows through the area. The marker is located south of a major flood control structure although I can find no reference to the Dept. of Agriculture being involved with the structure. The marker is located approximately 67' south of the fence delineating the flood control structure property line on an angle of 180 degrees. It is approximately 2759 feet east of the eastern edge of Meridian Rd. on an angle of 91 degrees.
