Carty's Camp was built in 1923 as Bill Carty's and Dick Mansker's Camp Ground and Service Station. Bill Carty eventually bought out his partner and renamed the complex Carty's Camp. Subsequent owners later changed the name to Havasu Auto Court and Service Station. The camp was reported to have played a part in the movie "The Grapes of Wrath".
