Countless postage stamps depict people, sculptures, monuments, buildings, paintings, bridges, scenes of natural beauty, various abstract designs etc. - but not many have an information desk as their central subject. However, if you’re taking a guided tour, where better to start?
Stamps from this issue were meant to be used to send post cards back home from international visitors to the UN Headquarters in New York. Besides the information desk, there were stamps showing some artwork, display items, the General Assembly hall and a few scenes from the outside of the building. The information desk is located in the lobby just inside the visitor's entrance
