"Rebuilt in the Middle Ages, in full Renaissance in the 16th century, the castle of Notre-Dame-de-Londres took the place of a feudal castle to which was attached the unique Romanesque castle church. The castle defended the borough of Notre Dame de Londres itself fortified.

The castle, much altered, has nevertheless kept some of its outstanding features: walkway, Renaissance window, fortifications. Two round protective towers still guard the old village.

The building still has two Renaissance rooms with painted ceilings. The castle cannot be visited inside but the remarkable medieval village allows you to walk around it outside ...

"LReconstruit au Moyen-Age, en pleine Renaissance au XVIe siècle, le château de Notre-Dame-de-Londres a pris la place d’un château féodal auquel était rattaché la singulière église romane castrale. Le château défendait le bourg de Notre Dame de Londres lui même fortifié.

Le château, très remanié, a tout de même gardé quelques uns de ses éléments marquants: chemin de ronde, fenêtre renaissance, fortifications. Deux tours de protection rondes gardent encore le vieux village.

Le bâtiment possède encore deux salles Renaissance à plafond peint. Le château n’est pas visitable à l’intérieur mais le remarquable village médiéval permet d’en faire le tour extérieur...
