The sculpture "Brookie" celebrates the re-esablishment of brook trout to the Green River, an indicator that the river is regaining its health. The 10' long sculpture of a brook trout is mounted on a 12' high pole. The sculpture has a welded stainless steel frame and an outer shell composed of locally made stainless steel cutlery, flatware, and tableware collected from the residents of the area.
The sculpture was created by John Sendelbach and installed in 2013. It is the first of several sculptures to be placed at gateway locations in Greenfield. An information table in front of the sculpture gives a brief history of the cutlery industry in Greenfield and of the sculpture.
