Easthampton give itself the nickname "Center of the Universe" the name that Brendan Stecchini gave to his interactive sculpture. He designed and created four stainless steel megaphones of mounted on angled bases of differing heights. The megaphones are set on a base engraved with the four cardinal compass points.
It was the intent of the artist to create a sculpture that: "people of all ages will stand at the center of the sculpture, using the megaphones to speak out to the world, while simultaneously reflecting on the great scale and magic of the universe surrounding them". Easthampton city of Arts: (

The base of the sculpture also acts like an astronomical observatory with the megaphones aiding as sighting devices. Arrows on the base point to important celestial events such as the:
