A bronze plaque attached to a upright, 4' high rough cut granite base honors the 32 men and women from Southampton who served during World War I. The plaque contains the images of the seal of Southampton, the crossed rifles of the United Stated Army and the anchor and chain of the United States navy. The plaque is inscribed:
