The Lehigh Fire Department is a volunteer department located in a metal building on Highway 75 at 2nd Street. The City Hall is also located in this same building.

In front of the south end of the building, this granite monument is about 3 ft. high. On the polished sloping top, the emblem for the Lehigh Fire Department is engraved along with the name of Freddie Brice. The monument honors Brice, a former coal miner in town, for his long service to the volunteer fire unit, from 1968 to 2000.
