The Paintbox program in Pittsfield, MA which started in 2016 was continued in 2020 with three new decorated utility boxes. Michael Carty was commissioned to decorate the utility box at Center and West Streets. He chose as his theme sea creatures, both mythical and real.
On the west side is a mermaid with flowing red hair. The south side has a giant sea horse. The east side a has a giant octopus or kraken and the north side a fish in the shape of and angel fish and snail.
