The underpass for this four-lane divided road was opened in 1977. There is a sidewalk on the south side of Innes Road for viewing rail traffic. VIA Rail passenger service between Ottawa and Montreal uses this bridge. Trains turning on the M&O wye also use the bridge. If ever required, the concrete deck has room for a second set of rails.
Before becoming a part of the Canadian Pacific system and eventually VIA Rail, this railroad right-of-way dates back to 1898 and was known as the M&O (Montreal and Ottawa) Railway.
Bridge Type: Rigid Frame (Concrete Deck and Supports)
Bridge Usage: Railroad
Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
