Inleiding:

preface:
TRANSFORMER HOUSE of the Energy Company Groningen / Drenthe, characteristically located on a small green. This type, built in 1921 and designed by the business engineer in typical Interbellum architecture, is more common in Drenthe. However, this specimen is protected as a characteristic representative because of its location in the village view of Westervelde to be protected (currently in proceedings).

Description:
Rectangular building built in light and dark brick, covered by a gable roof covered with Tuile du Nord tiles. Slightly tapering brick plinth; construction with sober decorative brickwork in the side and gables; wrought iron decorative anchors and coupled ventilation grilles in the gable end. North facade with double clasped doors with hinges; east façade with sheet-iron door with hangers and narrow windows on both sides with glass tiles under a lintel; south facade with coupled windows with glass tiles. The overhanging hood rests on coupled corbels on bobbins.

Appreciation:
Transformer house of architectural-historical, typological, infrastructural and urban development importance; also important as a characteristic and intact specimen that is located in the protected village view of Westervelde (currently in proceedings).
