Forano began in 1873 as the Plessisville Foundry. They primarily specialized in sawmill and logging machinery. Eventually, the company branched out into agricultural machinery.
"Forano" was a trademark used on their products. Sometime during the 1940s the name changed to Forano Ltée, and in 1978 the name changed again to Forano, Inc. The company went out of business in 1978.
