Built 1674 as a residence with an addition in 1773 to be used as a tavern. It was known as Clark Tavern. The property was inherited by Ebenezer Clark, who "was a stage driver between Medfield and Boston, as well as town postmaster from 1809-1818. Not surprisingly, the house was used at this period as a toll house on the Boston-Hartford Turnpike (Main Street) and as the town post office."
