Located on Hwy 17, Twelve 33 Distillery sits along the main route leading into the Grand Strand region. Close enough to serve the region, without some of the downsides to being within the city.

The distillery is built on the site of what was formerly a beachwear store. Instead, it has been transformed into a vibrant and spacious vanue for small production spirits. Wood and wrought iron themes fill the interior. From signs, to shelves, and light fixtures. Combined with the semi-transparent artwork on the windows provides a very art nouveau atmosphere reminiscent of the glory days of the Roaring 20s. One could imagine that on quiet nights, Gatsby himself might appear for a drink or two of a mint julip.

Twelve 33 opened in 2019, but one could just as easily imagine that they had stepped into 1919 as well. A wide bar stretches out, allowing for multiple bartenders to assist and serve. However, it is what lies beyond that is the true centerpiece of the distillery. Behind the counter, a glass window gives visitors a stunning view of the distillation chambers themselves. Not only are they functional - but they are works of art. Polished to the point of gleaming, these chambers are used to distill the very spirits sold on site. Whether it's by the glass, or by the bottle - the image of the shining metal pipes and chambers will long linger in your mind, harkening back to an age when time was simple. The feeling, just like the taste - timeless.
