Translated from the above noted text:

The former seminary of Sainte-Thérèse is an institutional building erected in several stages after 1881, which combines the Second Empire and neo-Gothic styles. This rectangular bossed stone building has a central front section and two smaller side sections. It has five levels including the very open base and the mansard roof covered with slate of contrasting colors forming geometric patterns. A neo-Gothic stone chapel-oratory with an octagonal plan located in front of the main building (1886). It is located in an institutional nucleus, in the heart of the old village of Sainte-Thérèse, in the town of Sainte-Thérèse.

The Séminaire de Sainte-Thérèse was founded on the initiative of Charles-Joseph Ducharme (1786-1853), parish priest of Sainte-Thérèse de Blainville and the institution's first superior, at the start of the 19th century. When he arrived in Sainte-Thérèse in 1816, his new parish had neither school nor teacher. His initial intention was above all to train teachers and it was not until 1830 that he thought of imitating other colleges, such as those in Nicolet and Saint-Hyacinthe.
