The American Red Cross, Hill County Chapter covers Kerr and several other surrounding counties to provide disaster assistance, services to the armed forces and health and safety training throughout the Texas Hill Country. The central facility for the Hill Country Chapter is in the heart of Kerrville, across the steet from the Kerr County Courthouse. Their hours are normally from 8am-5pm Mon-Fri. For Emergency services are provided 24/7 to victims of disaster.
From this Kerrville facility, the American Red Cross offers training classes in First Aid, CPR, AED, Baby Sitting and child care. They can also become the source for purchasing supplies for Emergency preparedness, first aide supplies, and various apparel and accessories. The American Red Cross also facilitates Blood Drives to help maintain readiness of the areas ready blood reserves in case of a disaster or emergency.
Of course, if you want to make a donation toward the work of the American Red Cross, they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations can be declaired as tax deductions.
By the front entrance into the building used in Kerrville as their Chapter's headquarters, there is a memorial plaque just below the street address number of 333, that reads as follows:
