Ik zag tijdens een wandeltocht door Den Dungen voor het raadhuis een bankje staan. Het was versierd met een mozaiek met ouderen en kinderen. Het is getiteld 'jong en oud'.

Op weg door alle kernen van de gemeente Sint-Michielsgestel zal het mogelijk opgevallen zijn dat her en der mooie kleurrijke mozaïekbanken staan. Het bijzondere hiervan is dat zij niet zo besteld en geleverd zijn door een firma, maar gemaakt door buurtbewoners. “De gemeente Sint-Michielsgestel verstrekt al enkele jaren gratis een betonnen bank, waarna het aan de buurt is om de zitplaats naar eigen inzicht met mozaïek te pimpen. Doelstelling is dat mensen elkaar ontmoeten en elkaar al doende (beter) leren kennen”, legt wijkmakelaar Helma Smolders uit. In de loop van de van tijd werd zo in Halder en Gemonde al een bank gerealiseerd en staan er intussen in Den Dungen al drie te pronken.
