Francesco "Frank" Rocca was born in Italy in 1878. He immigrated to the United States with his wife, Giuseppina, son, Renaldo, and daughter, Clementine, after the family lived in France for a short time.

Josephine died at the age of 56. Francesco lived with his daughter Clementine and her family after her husband died and he helped to raise her children. Even after growing old he remained very young at heart. He liked to go to the park and flirt with the young nannies. He took the bus to the library every day and taught himself to speak Greek. He built his own telescope. He used to say that the secret to getting old was to be really short (he was 5'4") and to eat a lot of beans. He also said that he would never die of an illness; he would either be in an accident or be shot by a jealous husband.

At the age of 100, Frank's bus that he was riding to the library was struck by a car and the bus flipped over. He died hours later at the hospital.
