To The PSOE, in the Parliament of Galicia; DC. OO., In the Inspection of Traballo. The political party and the union agree that the facilities of the Toén helicopter base, on Mount Coto do Castro, visited just over a year ago by the councilor Carlos del Álamo, do not comply with the rules of safety, hygiene and prevention of occupational risks . The union, which at the end of July filed a complaint with the Traballo Inspection, pointing out breaches of hygiene, ergonomic and environmental conditions; absence of appropriate, complete and approved personal protective equipment for the members of the base, and lack of information and training appropriate to the work carried out there. Pilots, co-pilots, mechanics, base technicians, brigade leaders, transmitters and laborers of the helicopter fire fighting brigades serve this base. The parliamentarian Pablo López Vidal, on his part, also echoed these alleged anomalies, announcing yesterday his intention to denounce them in the field of his political action. The representative of the PSOE, who visited the base, affirms that not only are safety and hygiene regulations being violated, but also that the conditions of the landing strips "are not as approved for this type of bases", given that the crosses a forest track. Among the presumed anomalies presented by this base is the lack of independent toilets for men and women, the absence of appropriate places for rest, since it has to be shared with warehouse areas, or the presence of the kerosene tank without surveillance.
