The draw well is next to the parking lot on the grounds of the Castle.
It is obvious that people used to collect the water here for the Castle.
It doesn't seem like such an old well because it has been well restored and has a new wooden roof, it is dry and is about 5 meters deep.
It has a metal grate but no sign is present with any information.

Castle Birkenfeld is mentioned as early as 1293 and is built on top of a mountain overlooking the town of Birkenfeld.
