The Smokey Bear Sign board is near the trailhead of the Panther Canyon Nature Trail is on the west side of the Landa Park Drive just north of the source of the Comal Springs. It is in a tree shaded area and may be hard to see.

Landa Park is a wonderful place to visit. Not only does it have Comal Springs, which are the source of water feeding the Comal River, it also has the Panther Canyon Nature Trail near the same location. At this trailhead is an informational kiosk showing the trail path AND near this kiosk is a Smokey Bear sign display. The few times I have been there to walk the path, the Smokey Bear sign indicated HIGH danger for fire hazard in the area.
The location of this Smokey Bear sign is in Landa Park, north of the Comal Springs, east of the Panther Canyon Nature Trail and west of the roadway through Landa Park where Landa Park Drive changes name to California Blvd and where Gazebo Circle conjoins with these other two roads. The official address for the Panther Canyon Trail is 15 Gazebo Cir., New Braunfels, TX 78130, but the sign is across the main road from the parking area of 15 Gazebo Circle. Park on the east side of the Gazebo Circle and carefully cross the road to the area of the trailhead. Since the road crests close to the trailhead and the Smokey Bear sign, I strongly suggest you walk south, closer toward the springs, a few yards before crossing the roadway. This will give you a better view of cars coming over the hill.
The Smokey Bear sign is a well made wooden structure with an 8 foot tall Smokey Bear picture painted on plywood that is to the right of another sign in a framed area of the sign. This second sign is the fire hazard level warning sign. There are five possible signs: Low, Moderate, High, Very High, or Extreme. This sign was showing the rating of High at the time of posting this waymark. The warning sign was posted on both sides of the sign.
