The West Medway firehouse was first placed on a small lot between Nos. 210 and 203 Main Street, and later occupied the present Torrent Engine House of 1876. Although the firehouse has undergone alterations, including a significant alteration on the front facade of the building, the original character of the building remains intact. It is significant historically as the oldest existing fire house and because of its setting.
