«Revive Castromao 2020» is the title of a small video about the castrexo site that has been prepared by the Celanova Council and that can be seen on YouTube and on municipal networks. It is a preview of a more complete video that is being prepared on the fort, declared BIC, and that was revitalized this year with a campaign of thorough cleaning of the structures and general clearing of the enclosure.
The municipal archaeologist, Breogán Nieto, is finishing the report with the analysis and diagnosis of the state of conservation of the fort that was carried out after this cleaning, financed with a grant from the GDR Limia-Arnoia. In addition, the virtual information on the castro has been updated - with a 360-degree panoramic view and audios to improve the visit - the traditional path to climb was enabled, and the parking areas were prepared. They also intervened on a collective, rectangular structure that was in danger.
The analysis carried out after the deep cleaning allowed to verify, according to the archaeologist, that the general state of the structures was quite good, taking into account that the site had not been operated in ten years. But that cabin on the north slope was restored because there was a risk that it would fall.
