"D’origine fort ancienne, c’est une « maladrerie » au 12ème pour recueillir les lépreux au retour des Croisades, puis il se transforme en couvent tenu par les Dominicaines, qui y construisent la chapelle en 1518.
C’est enfin un hôtel-Dieu en charge par les Augustines de1650 à 1966 dont la vocation était de « recevoir, nourrir, panser, médicamenter les pauvres, malades, infirmes, vieillards et autres … ».
Les bâtiments actuels datent de 1840 grâce à une aide financière, à la suite de la visite de Louis-Philippe qui s’était rendu compte de l’état de délabrement général.
Actuellement l’établissement est plutôt spécialisé dans l’accueil et l’hébergement des personnes âgées."
