The Palace of Charles V is a Renaissance building, the structure was commanded by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor as his residence. As is usual in Renaissance palaces the facade have Hitching Rings here guests and visitors could leave there horses tied in. Usually the more imposing the palaces are more ornate and worked are the Hitching Rings. The more common theme of the ornaments is the figure of the horse but other figures both animal and plants are recurring as in this case that a lion is represented. Today the palace is not a residence it houses the Granada Art museum.
