The Silver Chief Statue located in Downtown Altoona, PA. The name Silver Chief refers to a famous steam engine that existed during the height of the railroad industry in Altoona. Local residents also refer to this statue as Flying Mercury because of the resemblance to the Roman god, Mercury. He is designed using recycled railroad pieces.
The piece is located outdoors in a community square and has no fee to visit.
