This war memorial was erected in 1923 to commemorate the men or Louth who fell during the First World War.

The war memorial is on a four stepped square base surmounted by plinth, pedestal and figure of a serviceman. Serviceman stands with head bowed and rifle reversed.

Underneath the soldier are the words HONOUR THE FALLEN, THE GREAT WAR, 1914 - 1918.

At the base of the memorial, a dedication to the men of the Second World War was added after that war's finish.
