Saint John of Nepomuk (or John Nepomucene) [Czech: Jan Nepomucký; German: Johannes Nepomuk; Latin: Ioannes (or Ioannis) Nepomucenus (c. 1345 – March 20, 1393) is the saint of Bohemia (Czech Republic), who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods and drowning.

Plastika sv. Jana Nepomuckého byla puvodne umístena na žulovém soklu u mostu po levém brehu Blanice. V roce 1998 pri stavbe nového mostu C. 145-031 byla prenesená i se soklem na pravou stranu reky a zaujímá tak dominantní místo pri vjezdu do obce. Podstavec pod sochu, o celkové výšce 160 cm, je hranolového tvaru s odsazenými cástmi pri nárožích na prední strane. Skládá se ze trí dílu. Na rozšíreném soklíku základového pudorysu 114 X 70 cm, o výšce 44 cm, s ustupující profilovanou horní hranou, se zvedá samotný hranol. podstavec, výšky 96 cm, s bocními volutovými nástavci. Na prední strane je vytesán svisle obdélný rámec s hlubokou linkou, s projmutými rohy, v nemž je nápis s chronogramem.
