Dimetrodon - Whiteside Museum, Seymour, Texas - Dinosaur Statues on Waymarking.com

Dimetrodons are noted for the large sail-like structure on their spine. Until recently, virtually all Dimetrodon fossils were discovered in the "Red Bed" of Oklahoma and West Texas. Dimetrodon is actually more closely related to mammals than "true" dinosaurs, which they predate by about forty million years. This fine example is at the northwest corner of the parking area at the Whiteside Museum of Natural History.
