Tyringham, MA is a small, picturesque, isolated town which has a population of 327 people as of the 2010 census. It was incorporated as a town in 1762. The craftsman, arts and crafts style architecture differentiates this building from the others in Tyringham. The multi-purpose building once serves as the town hall as well as the library. Today the town post office, which has a separate entrance, shares space in the building.

The building features a ceramic tile roof, stone walls, and a stone foundation. It was built in between 1902 and 1905 to a design by John Albert Scott and architect H. Neill Wilson. Others involved in the construction are Frank W. Kane, the builder and the famous sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson, who maintained a residence in Tyringham. The Tyringham Library building was built through local subscription led by a committee composed of local and summer residents. Tyringham was a major summer destination for wealthy people from New York State.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 11, 2018.

Visit Instructions:
To post a log to an existing U.S. Post Office waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the post office in the background if that is possible.

A description of your Post Office is required, such as when it was built, history, outstanding or unique features, population of the city or town, just do a quick internet search and find an interesting bit of information about the city or town and add it to the long description, to make it more interesting. Even just adding in the population of the area can give others an idea of how many people this post office serves. This description should be at least three sentences.

If your Post Office has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
Including your gps device in the picture is not necessary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval, as long as all other details of your log are acceptable.
