Barbadás removes a pro-Franco shield in compliance with the Historical Memory law - Barbadás, Ourense, Galicia, España - News Article Locations on Waymarking.com

In honor of the victims retaliated during and after the civil war of 1936, the City Council of Barbadás wants to honor the people who suffered persecution, mistreatment or even death for defending freedom, justice and democracy, so that tomorrow celebrates an act in which a plaque will be unveiled at the Fonte da Carreira, on the street of the same name in the parish of Barbadás.
From this source the Falangist shield that had remained since 1959 was removed, despite the repeated demands made by the BNG for its removal.

With the placement of the new commemorative plaque, the intention is to restore the memory of the persecuted persons and to comply with the Historical Memory Law approved in 2007.

All the cultural, sports, political, social and neighborhood associations of the council as well as all the residents are invited to this event, at 11:30 am, on Rúa Carreira.
